Signs My ‘96 Corvette Has the Common A/C Programmer Problem

A design change in the 1996 Corvette A/C programmer has caused all kinds of problems for ‘Vette drivers. Thankfully, RB Auto Service has extensive experience in fixing this A/C programmer problem, and we can fix the A/C programmer issue in your ‘96 Corvette, too. The following signs of the ‘96 A/C programmer problem are the most common complaints we get from our customers.

Air Flow Problems

The most common complaint we get is airflow problems. The 1996 Corvette is equipped with a customizable air conditioning system that allows you to adjust the vents through which the air will flow, the temperature, whether you need the defroster on, and so on. Many people love the option to specify which vents they want airflow from exactly and get very frustrated when the air conditioner does not adjust to the preferred settings.

A common problem we’ve found with the ‘96 A/C programmer is you will end up with air flowing out of all of your Corvette’s vents even though you specified you wanted it to only flow from a certain set of them. You might also have air flowing out of the wrong set of multiple vents despite your settings. Airflow might be sporadic between multiple vents, or you might not get any airflow coming out of the vents at all, which is very frustrating.

Defrost Problems

Many of our customers also bring in their 1996 Corvettes because their A/C system is stuck on defrost. This is also a common problem with the 1996 Corvette A/C programmer. No matter what you do, you cannot get the defroster turned off, which can get very aggravating because it draws away from the air you want flowing through the passenger cabin vents. This can be an even bigger problem in the summer when the weather heats up.

Transition Problems

Finally, many people complain about how long it takes to transition between air conditioner setting changes in their 1996 Corvette. It shouldn’t take any time at all. When you make adjustments to your air conditioner’s settings, the transition should be nearly instant, and the new settings should stay in place until you change them again. If it seems to take forever for your vehicle to cool down, it could be a problem with the A/C programmer.

Don’t worry. As we said above, RB Auto Service in Pinellas Park, FL, has fixed the 1996 Corvette A/C programmer problem a lot, so we know exactly what to do to restore your ‘Vette’s A/C system to get it working exactly as it should be per your control preferences.
